The Rest of the Football Season

Well, I got behind in posting the results of Zac's football games. I posted an update on our family blog here.  I also posted our December newsletter there. 

We're getting ready for Christmas, we put up the lights and decorated the tree last week. Holidays down here in the sun are so nice. the weather has been in the seventies every day. Most days are sunny, but when it is cloudy it still seems like a treat. Taco prefers the heat. She doesn't like to be out in the cool too long. I don't blame her since she is so skinny.  

I will be making the long trek up north for Courtney's wedding. I hope the weather cooperates with me. It will be nice to see everyone. 

Shepherd - 59, Kino - 12

I missed the first half of this one. When I got there at half-time it was 59 - 0. I guess there were several punt returns for touchdowns, and when the returns weren't for touchdowns, the ensuing offensive plays were for touchdowns. It made for a short game for Zac since he had to sit on the sideline with the rest of the first string for the second half. If you look in that last photo in the background you'll see one of the reasons football is soooo expensive down here. The kids travel to games in Charter buses. Even if it's just across town.

Homecoming

Hallie went to her first school dance on Friday.

Shepherd - 29, Smith - 8

Zac's freshman team (Shepherd Jr. High) had a good game vs. Smith, though the refs did all they could to keep the other team's hopes up. We have never seen so many penalties called in a freshman game before.

Zac plays left guard, and usually plays every offensive play, but the second string got to play a few drives at the end of the game. I'm not sure he appreciated the rest or not. He also plays on kickoff return and punt coverage. In the Photos he's #51. We enjoy the games and usually get to see the sunset, which in Arizona are amazing.

The sunset photo here is from a Pop Warner game of Zac's from two years ago. Anyhow, the weather down here is still in the hundreds during the day, but that should be changing soon. By Halloween we'll be in the nineties for the highs.
